It has taken us some time to get this right, but from AW19 we have found an animal and environmentally friendly alternative to our leather patches on denims. The patches that we are using on the majority of seasonal denim is made from a blend of recycled PET and new polyester. On two fits, Ryan and Dido, we are using jacron.
Both are completely vegan, and PETA agrees.
Who is PETA?
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is the largest animal rights organisation in the world. PETA focuses its attention on the four areas in which the largest numbers of animals suffer the most intensely for the longest periods of time: in laboratories, in the food industry, in the clothing trade, and in the entertainment industry. PETA-approved vegan logo marks products that contain no animal derived components whatsoever: no leather, fur, wool, silk or animal skin.
We are very proud to be able to use this logo on all of our AW19* denims and apparel.
*Please note, Royal Core items that are currently available on our webshop still have leather patches. This is because we had a surplus of stock, and we do not believe in waste. Leather from the Royal Core collection will also be replaced with animal and environmentally friendly alternatives in the coming months. These items will not have the PETA logo.
